Ludwig Hirschfeld-Mack

Beneath an unfamiliar Southern Cross, émigré artist Ludwig Hirschfeld-Mack produced powerful and poignant images. Visit the Gallery’s study room with assistant curator of Australian art, Hannah Hutchison, to unbox works by Hirschfeld-Mack from our collection, many of which were created from within an Australian internment camp during the Second World War.

Filmed on Gadigal Country at the Art Gallery of New South Wales.
