Celebrating people, portraiture and the power of community

This summer the Art Gallery of New South Wales is celebrating people, portraiture and the power of community with Archie Plus.

Hear from lead curator of the project, Justin Paton, to find out more about the free program of art, music, performance and dance that marks a year of challenge and change and pays tribute to the acts of care, support and human resilience that have lifted, protected and inspired during 2020.

Enlarging on the portrait focus of the Archibald Prize, Archie Plus welcomes viewers to reflect and re-connect through portraits of many kinds — among them murals, night-time lightworks, sculpture and photography commissions, and playful new collection displays.

Follow the Archie Plus journey via Together In Art and the Gallery’s social channels to see artists at work, go behind the scenes with installation of projects and catch commentary from curators, artists and performers.
